General terms for quotes, bookings and painting work with Superb Painting.
Last updated: January 2026
These terms of service set out the basis on which Superb Painting quotes, schedules and carries out painting work in Melbourne. They apply alongside the written quote you receive; where the quote and these terms of service differ, the quote takes precedence for that job. Nothing here limits the rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Quotes are provided in writing after an on-site inspection and are valid for 30 days. Each quote names the products to be used, the number of coats, the preparation included and anything specifically excluded. A booking is confirmed when you accept the quote in writing and any deposit stated on it has been paid.
Prices assume the surfaces are in the condition observed at the inspection. If we uncover hidden damage once preparation begins (rot behind a fascia, failed render, or previously painted-over water damage), we stop, explain the options and price the additional work before continuing. You are never charged for extra work you have not approved.
We give you a start date and an expected duration. Interior work runs to schedule in almost all conditions. Exterior work depends on surface temperature and humidity being within the paint manufacturer’s stated range, so rain and extreme heat can move exterior stages. Where that happens we tell you as early as we can and give a revised date rather than applying coatings in conditions that would cause them to fail.
You agree to provide safe, reasonable access to the property during the agreed working hours, including power and water. For apartment and strata work, lift bookings and building approvals are your responsibility unless we have agreed in writing to arrange them.
We move and protect ordinary furniture and cover floors and fixtures. Please remove or point out valuables, fragile items, artwork and electronics before we start. Tell us about pets, alarm codes and parking restrictions in advance.
Any change to the scope (adding a room, changing a colour after the paint has been ordered, or upgrading a product) is priced as a variation and confirmed with you before the work is done. Colour changes made after mixing may incur the cost of the unused product.
Payment terms are stated on your quote. Unless agreed otherwise, the balance is due on completion of the agreed scope, after the final walk-through. Progress payments apply on larger jobs and are set out in the quote. We accept bank transfer; we do not store card details.
We provide a five-year workmanship warranty covering peeling, blistering and flaking caused by our preparation or application. It does not cover impact damage, movement or cracking in the underlying structure, normal fading and wear, damage from moisture entering the building, or surfaces we advised required repair before painting and which you asked us to paint anyway. Paint products carry their own manufacturer warranties, which we pass through to you.
To make a claim, contact us with photographs and a description of the problem. We will inspect and, where the claim is covered, repair the affected area at no cost.
We walk the completed work with you before the crew leaves and record anything you want corrected. Touch-ups identified at that walk-through are included in the price. Where you are not present, please raise any concerns within seven days of completion so we can address them promptly.
We hold public liability insurance, and a certificate of currency is available on request. Our liability is limited to remedying the defective work or refunding the cost of the affected portion, except where the Australian Consumer Law provides otherwise.
You may cancel a booking before work starts; deposits are refundable less any costs already incurred, such as custom-tinted product. If we need to cancel, we refund any deposit in full.
